Similes compare two things using like or as. The sentence “Her smile was as bright as the sun” makes a direct comparison between the brightness of her smile and the brightness of the sun by using as … as, which is exactly a simile. The other sentences describe images or actions without making a direct comparison: one states that her smile lit the room (a metaphorical claim), another gives the wind human qualities, and the last treats time as if it moves, another form of personification. So the sentence with as bright as the sun is the one that contains a simile.
